RuPaul's Drag Race:Untucked Rant and Review!!!!

One of the best parts about Ru Pauls Drag Race is that they have 30 minute show that comes on right after the regular show called RuPaul's Drage Race: Untucked. This show gives us insite on what we don't get to see after the judges pick their choices for the best and the worst of the evening. Most of the time is spent in different lounges and bars that are set up behind the scenes for the queens to be able to get off whatever is on their chests and enjoy a cocktail brought to you by Absolut Vodka(love it), while the other girls get judged on the main stage.

After our giant premiere for Season 5, this season's untucked is bringing out some good drama and the catch phrase "No Tea No Shade" has now been replaced with 'All Tea All Shade" meaning just because you made a nasty statement and tried to laugh like you weren't serious, doesnt mean you meant all the nasty behind it. I'm glad we started using that phrase(been using it myself for a long time), takes away the mess of trying to back track on your criticism.
Any who, this episode of Untucked we get to see more of the rift between CoCo Montrese and Alyssa Edwards, which if you think about it, the two would be better contestants if they didn't worry about each other so much. There is a big history with those two, in terms of Alyssa Edwards loosing her pageant crown and miss CoCo Montrese (the first runner up) getting the crown in her place. The two were apparently very good friends until that happened and havent spoken for 2 years(don't believe it). CoCo throws shade like nobody's business but Alyssa has got a box cutter for a tongue herself(that is Shangela's drag mother after all). Regardless of the two trying to one up each other, the other Queens of Drag Race still seem to hold more interest then these two(im still holding my opinions on both of them till I see more runway looks and challenges). Detox is seeing through the nasty shade of Alyssa Edwards and has this habit of flicking her nails(like there is dirt underneath them) at girls that agitate her( I was laughing too hard when she did it to Alyssa). Monica Beverly Hills let us know that she used to have a drug problem and has some self esteem issues. Mind you. Monica is pretty fabulous(needs more polishing, but still on it) but, to have her open up about and share that some of the queens have given nothing but support was good to see and nice to know not all of the girls are full of it.

When the top 3 and bottom 3 came in (including middle girl Ivy Winters), it seemed that Jade Jolie was still agitated with Serena Cha Cha(so was the rest of America) after she tried to come for her in the work room. Jade started on the look that Serena tried to put together(mind you this lady supposedly went to art school....not for clothes I'm sure) the outfit looked likea reject costume for a tacky version of Pinocchio and exposed her boy body leaving no illusion of drag...just clown, all the girls gave a silent laugh when Serena tried to explain the dress(it was pretty funny) and they pretty much dismissed her. Now, the biggest pet peeve I have with Serena Cha Cha is that she is 21 yrs of age and thinks she is the baddest girl on the planet because she is the youngest contestant this season, she states she has an advantage because of this, she also was trying to read Penny Tration for her age and also Vivienne Pinay(Serena is clearly jealous) and again Jade Jolie. So much drama out of that tiny body. ~~Sidenote to the picture below Lineysha Sparx is serving the house down in her runway dress made out of WALL PAPER, get into it!~~

All and all, the girls are way beyond and above Serena Cha Cha, so I see her making an exit very soon. P.S. Serena was also trying hard to flirt with the other queens. Detox called it out in a hilarious fashion and Alyssa gave her a title that has two many asterisks in it. This season has promise for some good TV and I am definitely right on board with this season. RuPauls Drag Race comes on Mondays 8c/9pm on LogoTv and you can catch the after show RuPauls Drag Race:Untucked right after the show.

More Rants, Raves and Reviews on the way...

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 5 Premiere!!!

If you are like me, you have been waiting all year for a new RuPaul's Drag Race. Well, kiddos we finally got it in a 2 hr premiere that was worth most of the wait (we had All Stars to hold us over.). The show has a new main stage, but still the familiar work room that we have all come to love. The show does not stop on witty puns and sly shade from the contestants and judges, but every now and then there are heart warming moments. I simply will give a quick summary of the episode and then get straight into the Queens of this season so I can give me two giggles and press on.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 5 opens with all 14 Queens stepping into the work room giving there quick intros and sizing each other up. You can almost tell right off the bat who is going home first(I did!!!!). But, the girls this season seem very talanted. This season is actually giving more "realness" then most of the other seasons of Drag Race(not saying all the other girls were not). By "realness", I mean the illusion that their drag is not clock-able to a straight man(at night with good lighting) and are feminine to the T. This season brings it with girls such as Jade Jolie and Vivienne Pinay. They give straight woman when they come it in drag(especially Vivienne's runway look, snaps!). I will say though that Detox look is phenomenal(work has been done to that mug) and her drag is definitely elevated above other contestants. Roxxy Andrews, Lineysha Sparx and Jinx Monsoon are also other stand outs. Other contestants include Monica Beverly Hillz, Alaska, Ivy Winters, CoCo Montrese, Alyssa Edwards, Honey Mahogany(adore), Serena Cha Cha(blah) and Penny Tration.

The first challenge involves them getting into a tank of water and giving their best pose. Many failed, but Detox won the challenge. After this, the girls were promised a shopping spree out in Beverly Hills where they met up with Camille Grammer (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). The girls did not get to shop with Camille, but they did get to rummage through garbage in the back of the store(LOL). That was the runway challenge, RuPaul wanted the girls to make a outfit out of garments and trash that had been thrown away in the back of the store. I am not going to give away the show yet( I know some people don't get to watch TV till the weekend). I will say that I agree with the bottom two, but I might have picked another winner for the main stage challenge.

I'm not going to jump to hard on the queens yet, still waiting to see how some of these girls fair past the first episode. MR3

The Sisterhood: Get into It!!!

OK, now I know I am a big reality TV fan, but I completely missed the boat the day this aired on TLC. Now, the show is pretty much about "Preacher Wives" and their perspective in and outside of church. I was leery for the first 5 minutes of the first episode, especially when they introduced "Severe" Tara, but it grew on me when they introduced Ivy and Dominique into the picture. Christina is great too, but she is giving me more background vocals then head choir assistant. Give it gander, I have it set to my DVR; Tuesdays on TLC.
